Refrigerator repair

We fix it.

Did you know that refrigerators should maintain a temperature of 37°F to 40°F? If you notice your fridge is not cooling properly, makes unusual noises, is leaking, or the door is not sealing properly, call us today. Unattended fridge problems can get worse and be more costly if not corrected timely.

Refrigerator problems can be caused due to different factors. Common problems we fix:

  • Refrigerator making unusual noises. This may be cause of a bad evaporator fan or even the compressor.
  • Refrigerator is not cooling. This can be cause by multiple reasons, a blocked vent, a broken door seal that will cause your fridge to work harder and spoil your food. A faulty fan, a refrigerant leak, or incorrect temperature settings.
  • Refrigerator is leaking water. This can be caused due to problems with the water supply, a clogged defrost drain, a broken drain pan, or a damaged door gasket.
  • Refrigerator has frost buildup. Moisture in the air that enters the freezer freezes on cold surfaces such as the evaporator coils. A faulty defrost timer, a clogged defrost drain, a block vent are some causes of frost buildup.
  • Refrigerator runs continuously. Is not normal for a refrigerator to run constantly although newer models run more frequently, they should not run constantly.
  • Freezer is leaking

Save Energy

Adjust your refrigerator temperature between 37°F and 41°F. Not keeping the correct temperature will cost more in food spoilage. In addition, avoid placing hot food in your refrigerator, while it won't break your unit, it will cause a temperature spike and make the compressor work harder, making it less efficient and more costly to you.

Keep the cool air flowing in your refrigerator. Refrigerators depend on air circulation to evenly distribute the cool air throughout the unit, blocking the vents cause temperature fluctuations that may lead to bacteria growth and mold. In addition, blocked vents make the compressor work harder which makes your appliance inefficient and shortens its lifespan. A refrigerator typically last between 10-15 years, however, some high-end refrigerators may last longer. Regular maintenance can help extend its lifespan. Call your TX Elite appliance technician to do a regular maintenance such as cleaning the condenser coils and checking for leaks. Check your doors seals often and minimize opening the door so that too much warm air does not get inside your unit and stays cold.
